This Is Our Story

Aluminyze grew out of a small town photo shop in Valley Stream, New York. From the beginning we have taken pride in providing top-quality aluminum products and that dedication remains to this day. In the past, aluminium as a print medium has been available almost exclusively to photo professionals. We built state-of-the-art labs in our current Brooklyn home to make this beautiful product available to everyone. Today, we remain on the forefront of industry innovation, guaranteeing unmatched quality and vibrancy that you simply can't find anywhere else.

About Aluminum

Exceptional products start with exceptional materials. Both lightweight and enormously durable, aluminum allows for vibrant color and a gorgeous contemporary aesthetic. Aluminum is tear-proof, waterproof, as well as scratch and UV resistant.

High Quality & Waste-Free

We are awfully fond of aluminum, our signature element. The material is lightweight, durable, highly resistant to corrosion, does not rust and is naturally flame retardant, so you can be sure your photo prints will last. We use only 100% recycled premium grade aluminum sheets that are also 100% recyclable, making our product 100% waste free.

How It Works

After extensive experimentation, we've got photo printing on aluminum down to a science. We use a dye sublimation method that infuses dye into the surface of aluminum prints, for an archival quality photograph that will last. The dye particles are completely enclosed within the coating, giving you a print that is waterproof and scratch and UV resistant.

Our stories

The dye sublimation process is delicate, and can lead to bubbles chips and similar flaws during production. Some printers say that chips, bubbles and color variances are standard with metal prints. I disagree. Before an order is sent to the lab, it is reviewed to ensure your choice of surface, finish, shape and size is perfect for your photo. We then have a professional editor color-correct the image for the most vibrant color and most beautiful print. If it doesn't pass our 10 point inspection, it doesn't leave our lab. It's that simple.

It was in the late 2000s that we first started experimenting with the product we are now famous for: aluminum. Smitten by the luminous quality, incredible color, and detail the metal sheets lent the photographs, we developed a full line of aluminum products, officially dubbing ourselves Aluminyze.
